Spider-Man is a Marvel superhero. The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (Aug. 1962).

Spider-Man is the secret identity of Peter Parker, who was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May after the death of his parents. In his origin story, he gains superhuman powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. These include superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to shoot webs and cling to walls.

In the 1970s, he was given his own tokusatsu series in Japan where he had a mecha named Leopardon.
